Career-Changed Dogs
All dogs in our Service Dog program can do great things, but sometimes a dog is better suited to a different type of work or would rather be a family pet. This could be due to a temperament concern, a behavioral issue, a medical condition such as allergies, retirement, or even simply that the dog doesn't want to be a Service Dog! We call these our career-changed dogs. They are still wonderful animals and it's our goal to find the best place for them to make an impact in this world. Facility Dogs
Facility dogs are trained to work with more than one person in facilities like courthouses, schools, counseling centers or hospitals. Unlike service dogs that work with one person, professionally trained facility dogs work with a handler to serve many people who need social interaction, recovery motivation, comfort and/or a feeling of safety.
Public Adoption

Heeling House is committed to finding the perfect home for all of our dogs and our matching process is based primarily on suitability. Adoptable dogs can be a range of ages from younger puppies under 6 months to dogs closer to 2 years or above. Waiting times can be over a year, but adopting one of our career changed dogs ensures a dog that has gone through basic obedience and is safe in a household. Our experienced staff evaluate all dogs looking for a career change to find their perfect fit for a new family!

Please Note: Career-Change Dogs may not be used or represented as a Service Dog at any time.
These dogs are not graduates of our program, and misrepresenting a dog is a violation of the adoption agreement and federal law.
